Free Object Handling Sessions
We offer a variety of handling sessions in Primary Schools based on our collections. These are:
- Victorians
- 1930s House
- Toys and Games
- World war 2
- Geology of West Lothian
- Local Study (tailored to suit your community)
Sessions are limited, so please book early.
Reminiscence Box Loan Service
Boxes available:
- Household - General
- Household - Gentlemen
- Household - Ladies
- Wartime
- Schooldays
- Washday
- Royal Family
- Transport
- Children's Games
- Mining
Boxes can be booked by telephoning the Museum Service on 01506 776321.
Bookings are for one week from Friday to Thursday and you may keep the box for all or part of that period.
When you first make a booking, you will be given a code. Please quote the code when making further bookings. If you require a box for longer than 1 week, please telephone us at least 2 weeks in advance.
Boxes should be collected and returned to the Museums Service at: Library Headquarters.
There is no fee for the use of the boxes, but a charge may be made for any loss or damage to a box or its contents beyond normal wear and tear.
