Community Guidance in West LothianWhat is community guidance?
Community Guidance is a partnership approach for linking lifetime guidance to lifelong learning. Community Guidance partners are committed to working with one another, and with individuals and communities across Scotland, to ensure that guidance supports all forms of lifelong learning. Community Guidance includes information, advice and guidance for: - Learning
- Work
- Volunteering
- Personal development
In particular, it focuses on delivering in the community - taking services to people who might not come and find them on their own. In the West Lothian area, Community Guidance has been developed in consultation with a wide range of partner organisations from the Adult Guidance Network to meet local needs. As a constituent part of the Community Learning and Development Strategy, the Community Guidance Action Plan sets out a framework. This will not only improve the accessibility and quality of guidance opportunities for the people of West Lothian, but also help develop the skills and knowledge of practitioners in the field.
