| WLHAS is the common name of and an abbreviation of the "West Lothian History and Amenity Society". WLHAS meets in various locations within West Lothian - but extend to cover the old West Lothian boundaries that include the town of Bo'ness. The other venues are in Bathgate, Linlithgow and Ecclesmachan.
WLHAS started in 1965 following a series of lectures on the local history of West Lothian. The Society now combines the annual program of talks with a variety of related activities and visits. WLHAS also provides comments to the local planning authorities on applications for listed building consent and planning permission in conservation areas.

| DIARY EXTRACTS 2008 The first meeting after the winter break will take place in Acredale House, Mid Street, Bathgate on Wednesday 20th February at 7.30pm. The speaker will be Trevor Royle who will speak about Scottish Soldiers in the First World War.
